Open Arms is dedicated to caring for the forgotten ones of India – the parentless children, widows, destitute and uneducated. Without the basic essentials and services we offer, many of these children and impoverished women would have no hope for the future. The needs are great, but we are making a difference.
- 9 children’s homes, presently caring for 500 children. Hundreds of others have lived in these homes, grown up and become successful citizens raising families and holding jobs. We have a great track record for helping them become valuable contributors to their country.
- Five schools where nearly 900 children are given free education
- A hospital where thousands who have no resources for medical care receive it freely
- A training institute where women can gain valuable work skills to ensure a good living
- Hundreds of wells placed in villages where the villagers have lacked ample quantities of clean, safe water
- Tools to enable self sufficiency – sewing machines and rickshaws
- Widow assistance – reaching out to the poor widows with food, clothing, and training
- Emergency care to those who survived earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and other disasters

- Our extremely low administrative costs, and use of many volunteers, have kept our U.S. overhead costs well under 8% of our total income in donations.
